As appraisers are we responsible to police AMCs fees or any other fees besides our fees? What is it to us? Is it our job to protect the consumer on this matter? I do not care what other people fees are and I surely do not waste my time thinking about it. No one set my fees! I set my own fees.

Well, it would appear that we are ALL angry about something in the appraisal industry evolution. I don’t think “anger management” in general is reasonable, since that suggests the problem is our own. It IS our own, but only because most of the anger is mis-directed or not quite focused on the source.

People in this industry used to actually care about consumer protection. We did not have industry insiders whom masquerade as appraisers, trying to tell us our service was to the lender and the lender alone regardless of how they treated and deceived consumers.
