Trout CPA is excited to announce that Taylor DeGroft has joined our Outsourced Accounting team in our Mechanicsburg, PA office.
Can you talk about your journey before you joined Trout CPA?
Prior to starting at Trout CPA, I worked for another certified public accounting firm, where I provided bookkeeping and payroll services.
Before obtaining my degree in accounting, I worked in physically demanding jobs to pay for my schooling, but it taught me how hard work can quite literally pay off.
What do you like about the Mechanicsburg area?
Since Mechanicsburg is close to Harrisburg and Hershey, there are many options for things to do, such as visiting one of the local breweries or wineries or listening to live music at one of the local venues. I also consider myself a foodie, and appreciate how there are plenty of unique food options in or near the Mechanicsburg area.
Why did you choose to start a career at Trout CPA? What parts about Trout CPA's work culture attracted you to our firm?
The ability and flexibility to be able to work from home is something that really appealed to me.
What aspects of your job do you enjoy the most?
I have always been a numbers person, simply because numbers don't lie. Two plus two is always going to equal four.
When you're not working, what do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I sometimes enjoy more leisure activities like reading or watching TV. Outside of that, I actively go to the gym, take Zumba classes, listen to music, or go to new places and try different things.
Where is your favorite travel destination?
Unfortunately, I have not traveled much, but I recently visited Orlando, Florida, and went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios.
What organization do you care most about?
An organization that I support and will donate any chance I get if asked would be for Children's Miracle Network and the Four Diamonds Foundation. This comes from a personal background as I was once a Four Diamonds child myself, and I hold dear what they are able to do and provide for children and families.
