Microsoft Envision: Innovation

Only a few days ago at Microsoft Envision presented with Accenture and Avanade, I had the chance to talk with one of our clients about driving success by doing more with less. And how organizations can learn the new priorities in cybersecurity, which can simplify one’s future approach and maximize legacy security systems.

It’s increasingly clear that organizations need a new security model that adapts to the complexity of the modern environment, embraces the hybrid workplace, and protects people, devices, apps, and data wherever work happens.

That does not mean security should cost astronomical sums, or that you should compromise goals at the expense of safety. My colleague at the event, Hiroyuki Kurosaki, Deputy Director of Digital Strategy of Yokogawa Electric Corporation, embraced change and the common mission among security professionals: to create a safer, more secure digital space for all of us.

Achieving end-to-end protection applies to people, devices, apps—and productivity too. Throughout Microsoft Envision, attendees heard a great deal about people and how they can navigate the new challenges every organization faces. Our marquee speaker—Carla Harris, Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley—joined Sonia Webb, Chief Financial Officer, Avanade, to share insights about what leaders can and should do to engender success.

At the event, Judson Althoff, Microsoft Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer, detailed how the Industrial Metaverse creates opportunity for industry, organizations, and customers with digital technologies that bring humans and AI together. Christie Smith, Accenture Global Lead, Talent & Organization, and Jeff Teper, Microsoft President, Collaborative Apps & Platforms, got deep into the tools industries need to lead efficiently, and why it’s essential for leaders to focus on worker empowerment and better productivity from anywhere.

In addition, Alysa Taylor, Microsoft Corporate Vice President, Azure & Industry Marketing, led discussions with Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman & CEO of Schneider Electric, about sustainable digital transformation and energy management and how it’s possible to meet business objectives while making the planet a better place. Scheider Electric became the 2022 Microsoft Energy & Sustainability Partner of the Year, so their conversation has high value in today’s economy.

It always inspires me to do great things and share new ideas when I see such innovative concepts and actionable solutions. I hope you feel the same way, and plan to attend our next event in Spring 2023.
