Amid a surge in new (and improper) Employee Retention Credit (ERC) claims, the IRS has put a moratorium on processing of any new ERC claims through December 31, 2023. This comes as there have been a slew of predatory tactics from questionable vendors. This time is intended to allow the IRS to add more safeguards against future abuse.
