Dan Crowley, CEO and Founder of Peer Executive Groups, is no stranger to business valuation.

As a licensed insurance agent, as well as a certified family business specialist and business succession planner, Crowley developed his own business valuation calculators before he began using BizEquity’s proprietary software.

For the first year he used the BizEquity platform, Crowley said, he ran it alongside his own calculators and found it to be “amazingly accurate. Within 5% every time.”

Now, Crowley leverages BizEquity as an onboarding tool for business owners who want to join one of his 17 peer executive groups. “We use BizEquity to establish a starting point for our business owners,” Crowley said. “It helps us guide their action plans and motivates them to work on big rocks in their company.”

The business valuations also facilitate meaningful conversations around succession and exit planning, buy/sell agreements, and insurance.

In the case of one peer group member with a family owned and operated construction equipment rental company, learning his BizEquity helped him protect his wife and two small children.

“We discovered the company was worth $60 million, and used that information to devise a strategy to purchase $20 million of permanent and $40 million of term life insurance, with a plan to convert $20 million every five years,” explained Crowley.
